I never know if I might want to tweak the blog in the future and not have a white background, so I wanted my old pics to have transparency with the shadows if that was the case. I don't think that .png's compress anywhere near what a .jpg would, so they're probably just way bigger files and come out crisper. That being said, what's an "HD Uploader"?
