AHHAHA i was watching that clip and you guys are are stuck at hearing Pierre McGuire announcing games…hes horrible, he does all the World Junior Hockey here which we love, but mute him mostly and his ‘monster performers’ sorry that he has to be heard in US too…lol
While I didn’t notice Pierre McGuire being anoying I do long for the days of awww, what was that guys name? He was short, blonde and a former goalie. He used to do the play-by-play with Bill Clement on ESPN. Gary something? That guy was/is great, where’s he at?
I am growing weary of this Canadian pseudo-sport occupying space on your otherwise striking website. In case you’ve forgotten, lame-o, the NFL draft is just around the corner. Or maybe you should be writing about Dre Bly, Al Wilson, and Shanahan (yes, THAT one).
Hockey is for people who believe football has an off-season.
Glen Healy, we don’t watch ESPN, its all TSN and Sportsnet here…and of course CBC hockey night in Canada…as far as NFL goes, is that even a sport? should something be recognized a sport when only one country appreciates it?
I would watch NFL but 40 minutes of them standing around talking scratching and not moving is not that exciting…all that for 5 seconds of action and if one is lucky some scrambling to take it to 12 seconds…mmm awesome! (I’m just bugging in case you are writing a heated response

Well I do love both Football and Hockey.
To defend Kaz’s love of football I’ve got to say that I love the “chess” mentality of football. Sure there is a lot of downtime between plays, but that’s when the strategy is being waged. Without this it would be Rugby, which is ANOTHER great sport, but more like Basketball and Hockey in the fluidity of play.
To defend Hockey, ummm Kaz, seriously Hockey is every bit as exciting as football but unlike football the tension built up in watching hockey is like watching a good horror movie, your adrenaline just keeps building with every scoring chance and then FINALLY a score. It makes scoring (and defense) much more exciting. So to not recognize Hockey as on par with football is bad enough, but to suggest that the NFL draft is more exciting than the Stanley Cup playoffs… is just plain unChristian. You make God sad.
Oh please. On God’s 42-foot plasma HDTV is the NFL Network 24 hours a day. And hockey? The result of a fallen world. We live in a world after Easter Sunday when we proclaim Christ is risen, and so too we no longer pledge our allegiance to pseudo-sports like hockey. Go on and worship the pagan gods of Ottawa, Charlie. We Christians who have yet to hand ourselves over to the toothless emperors of hockey will be called righteous in the eyes of God. Why do you think football is played on Sundays?

You guys are hilarious as a guy who played college hockey in Canada, I would add that hockey at these levels is all systems and to an untrained eye (American)
it seems that its just running around when in fact it is all well orchestrated system, I actually like football, but hockey is way up on the list, we have hits, you have to be fast, smart, finesse and we have fights for the meatheads out there…its the total package…:) and to put it in your guys conversation, The Kingdom of God has Arrived…hockey playoffs are here
